Porto Taverna beach

Porto Taverna beach is a beautiful long sandy beach that slopes gently into clear, turquoise waters. It is also ideal for families with small children. The water is mostly calm and shallow, as the bay is quite well protected, making the beach particularly child-friendly. A highlight is the impressive view of the nearby island of Tavolara, whose striking rock formations dominate the panorama. This wonderful backdrop gives the beach an exclusive, unusual atmosphere and invites you to linger and enjoy. In addition, large and small sailing yachts and motor yachts anchor in the bay, so it never gets boring. However, the boats anchor quite far away from Porto Taverna beach, so you won’t be disturbed by them. Although the beach is long, it is quite narrow and very busy in summer. Hire beach loungers and parasols

Sections of the beach are reserved for those renting parasols and sun loungers. Two sun loungers with an umbrella were rented to us for 40 euros. The prices are probably between 35 and 70 euros per day (we didn’t ask all the providers of beach loungers) – it might be worth negotiating a little if there are a lot of loungers available. Beach loungers and parasols have unfortunately become very expensive in Italy, see also on Google under “expensive beach loungers parasols italy” – now everyone has to decide for themselves what shade and comfortable lying is worth to them.

In any case, Porto Taverna beach is well worth a visit, and I really enjoyed it.

The Porto Taverna Windsurfing Club is a windsurfing school right on the beach. Here you can hire windsurfing equipment, wing foils, open kayaks and stand-up paddle boards (SUP). Lessons are also offered for beginners to advanced surfers. The experienced and dedicated instructors accompany the students on the water in their inflatable boats. The club is open daily from 9:30 to 19:00 during the season and offers both individual and group courses. The Porto Taverna Windsurfing Club made a very good impression during our conversation. It really is a club that offers members these services. You can become a member for a small amount of money and then take a course. The friendly rental agent speaks excellent English and explained everything to us very nicely.
