Waste separation in Sardinia and Italy

Residual waste and other waste must be meticulously separated in Italy, otherwise the waste will not be taken away or the costs for re-sorting will be charged.

We therefore ask our guests to ensure that waste is separated as follows:

Residual waste (Secco residuo)

Residual dry waste such as tempo handkerchiefs, kitchen towels, napkins and cigarettes.

Organic waste (Umido Organico)

This means “wet waste” and is comparable to an organic waste garbage can or compost. Food scraps (vegetable cuttings, meat scraps, etc.), coffee grounds and all other food scraps are disposed of in this garbage can.

Glass and tins (Vettro e Lattine)

Glass and metal cans as well as beer mats belong in this garbage can.

Paper and cardboard (Carta e Cartone)

All paper scraps and cardboard. Even milk cartons – but their lids belong in the plastic waste. No tempo handkerchiefs and napkins!

Plastic waste (Plastica)

All plastic waste from packaging and yogurt cups.
