Spiaggetta dell’Arco – an insider tip for sun worshippers and adventure seekers
Nestled in the wild coastal landscape of the north-east coast of Sardinia, near the town of Sassari, lies the Spiaggetta dell’Arco – a small beach that owes its name to the natural rock arch (“Arco”) that stretches majestically over the turquoise sea. Access is a little adventurous, but the reward is an unforgettable nature experience away from the typical tourist crowds. It takes around 2 hours to get there from the villa, but the journey and the destination are equally rewarding.
Cliff jumping from different heights
The bay is particularly popular with cliff jumpers: the surrounding rocks offer various jumping points – from low plateaus to breathtaking heights for experienced jumpers. Those who prefer to watch rather than jump themselves can make themselves comfortable on the beach or on the surrounding rocks and watch the brave jump into the crystal-clear water. It is a fascinating spectacle that offers excitement and entertainment for all ages.

A beautiful day at the beach
A day at the beach at Spiaggetta dell’Arco can be wonderfully combined with a picnic, a refreshing swim and watching the cliff divers. The unique backdrop of limestone cliffs, maquis and the bright blue of the sea makes this place a real highlight in Sardinia.
Note: Sturdy shoes for access, plenty of water and sun protection are recommended, as there is no infrastructure on the beach – which is exactly what makes this place so special and pristine. It’s worth getting there early as the beach is small.
- Beach service: The beach offers no service
- Water sports: swimming, snorkeling, jumping from the rocks into the sea
- Gastronomy: None on the beach. Bars and restaurants can be found in S’Archittu, about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach.
